I have personally coached many of your kids. For those who do not know me, I am a Dad, Coach, and Author with 23 years in the Weight Room. I truly believe this is the perfect time for MJ and his peers to get introduced to the Weight Room. However, it is very important this first experience be fun, safe, and effective. Our kids are not mini-Adults. They should not be doing scaled down workouts meant for us. Our kids need to Run, Jump, Throw, develop Balance, build Core Strength, learn how to squat, push, and pull WHILE having fun....NOT worry about how much weight is on the barbell, NOT doing Barbell Squat due to spinal compression, NOT working to muscle failure. This is called Long Term Athlete Development. I truly believe the Weight Room can be a magical place where our kids can build confidence, strength, develop a life long pursuit of health and fitness.
